Todd Witcraft CPA, PFS
CEO CIO
Todd brings deep expertise to his role, with a career spanning several leadership positions in distinguished Minneapolis Family Offices and Registered Investment Advisory firms. He specializes in advising high-net-worth families with complex financial needs, including investment management, tax and financial planning, business succession, estate strategies, and philanthropic planning.
Todd holds a degree in accounting from Saint John’s University (Collegeville, MN). He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has earned the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation, underscoring his commitment to comprehensive, client-centered financial guidance.
Outside of work, Todd enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family. Now as empty nesters, he and his wife, Jen, enjoy life in Victoria, Minnesota, and cherish time with their two grown children.

Paul J. Dinzeo CPA, JD, MBT, CFP
President
Paul brings over three decades of experience in the single-family and multi-family investment space, delivering customized wealth management and trustee services to high-net-worth families nationwide. His expertise and passion lie in trust planning and administration, financial planning, income tax strategy, and the oversight of private foundations. Paul also plays a key role in estate planning, business succession, and governance planning for multi-family office and trust clients.
He holds a B.A. in Accounting from Saint John’s University (Collegeville, MN), a Master’s in Business Taxation from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and a Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Certified Public Accountant, and Licensed Attorney in Minnesota.
Paul is married to his wife Amy, and they have four children. He enjoys his family’s Italian tradition of wine making. He has appeared in numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.

Kristina Backes MBA
Director of Operations
Kristina serves as Director of Operations, bringing a strong foundation in strategic design, process optimization, and financial management. She leads initiatives that drive operational excellence across Dougherty’s wealth management, family office, trust, and tax and accounting divisions. With a focus on delivering exceptional client service, Kristina ensures that every engagement meets the highest standards of efficiency and care.
Kristina earned her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Strategic Management from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Saint Cloud State University.
Kristina enjoys traveling, hiking, and reading, and she especially values time spent on the lake with her family. Her love for the outdoors and curiosity for new experiences fuel both her personal and professional life.

Jose Cabrera
Director of Investments
Jose is the Director of Investments at Dougherty, where he leads investment operations and strategy while managing client portfolios with precision and care. With a strong focus on long-term performance and risk management, Jose plays a key role in shaping the firm’s investment philosophy and delivering tailored solutions that align with each client’s goals.
Jose earned his degree in Accounting with a concentration in Finance from Saint John’s University (Collegeville, MN), where he was also a dedicated student-athlete and member of the Johnnie soccer team. Jose has successfully passed Level II of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
Originally from Oregon, Jose enjoys staying active through soccer and running, and he loves spending time outdoors. A passionate sports fan, he proudly supports his favorite Pacific Northwest teams.

Casey Reinke CPA
Tax Manager
Casey is the Tax and Accounting Manager at Dougherty, where he specializes in income tax planning & compliance, wealth transfer planning, and estate administration. Casey brings experience serving high-net-worth individuals and family office clients at a leading multinational public accounting firm. He has spent the last 5 years with Dougherty building strong client relationships and delivering thoughtful, detail-oriented service.
Casey earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minor in International Business from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed by the Minnesota Board of Accountancy.
Casey enjoys playing golf and basketball, walks with his puppy Marco, and traveling with his wife Mara. He values time with family and friends and is always up for a new adventure.

John Witcraft
Senior Wealth & Tax Associate
John is a Senior Wealth and Tax Associate at Dougherty, where he supports clients through a cross-functional role spanning financial wealth management, taxation, and client services. With a passion for strategic problem-solving and a strong analytical mindset, John is committed to helping clients navigate complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from the University of St. Thomas. During his time at St. Thomas, he was actively involved in campus life, participating in intramural sports and student organizations such as the Student Alumni Council, Investment Club, and Financial Management Association. John consistently earned Dean’s List honors throughout his undergraduate studies and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the premier international business honor society. He also expanded his global outlook through a J-term study abroad experience in Rome, Italy, enriching his academic journey with cross-cultural insights.
John enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing golf, exploring new restaurants, and cheering on his favorite Minnesota sports teams— who thinks every year could be their year.

Alex Wattermann
Senior Wealth Associate
Alex is a Senior Wealth Associate at Dougherty, where he collaborates across teams to deliver comprehensive financial and wealth management services, including investment analysis, tax planning, and client support. Driven by a passion for helping others, he creates meaningful value to clients through thoughtful, detail-oriented work.
He earned his degree in Financial Markets with a minor in Coaching from the University of Minnesota Duluth. A former student-athlete, Alex served as a two-time captain of the UMD baseball team and was twice honored with the Bulldog Award for leadership and excellence. He was also an active member of the university’s Investment Club, where he deepened his interest in financial markets.
Alex has successfully passed Level I of the CFA Program.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys staying active through sports, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.

Olivia Engstrand
Senior Tax Associate
Olivia is a Senior Tax Associate at Dougherty, with experience in tax compliance, preparation, consulting, and accounting. She specializes in the accurate and efficient preparation of individual, trust, and flow-through entity tax returns, ensuring full regulatory compliance. In addition to her tax expertise, Olivia supports the firm’s Accounting Team with general ledger oversight and financial reporting.
Olivia earned her degree in Accounting and Finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She is currently pursuing her CPA certification and is committed to expanding her expertise to continue delivering high-quality service and guidance to Dougherty clients.
Olivia enjoys baking, practicing yoga, reading, and spending time outdoors. She has a passion for travel and loves discovering new places and experiences with friends and family.

Samuel Riegert
Senior Wealth Associate
Sam is a Senior Wealth Associate at Dougherty, where he supports clients across financial and wealth management, tax planning, client services, and trust administration. With a strong quantitative mindset and a passion for problem-solving, Sam is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, high-quality service that helps clients achieve their financial goals.
Sam earned his degree in Global Business Leadership from Saint John’s University. During his time at St. John’s, he was a student-athlete on the football team, served in the institutional advancement office, and actively participated in intramural sports. He also broadened his global perspective through a semester abroad in Dublin, Ireland.
Sam enjoys backcountry snowmobiling, playing golf and hockey, and spending time with friends and family. His love for the outdoors and team-oriented mindset continue to shape both his personal and professional life.

Henry Evenson
Wealth Associate
Henry is a Wealth Associate at Dougherty, where he supports clients in the areas of financial and wealth management, tax, trust administration, and client services. He is committed to building meaningful relationships by understanding each client’s unique goals and values, helping them feel confident and secure in their financial journey.
He earned his degrees in Finance and Management from Iowa State University. During his time there, Henry was actively involved in intramural sports, held leadership roles within his fraternity, and spent a semester studying abroad in Florence, Italy—an experience that broadened his global perspective.
Outside of work, Henry enjoys playing and watching sports, exploring new travel destinations, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Karsten Kimsal
Wealth Associate
Karsten is a Wealth Associate at Dougherty, where he supports financial planning, operational processes, wealth management, and client service activities. In his role, he collaborates across departments to deliver a high-touch experience, ensuring clients receive thoughtful guidance and seamless operational support.
Karsten graduated from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota with degrees in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management. He was awarded the prestigious Evans Scholarship—a full tuition and housing scholarship granted to high-achieving golf caddies—after years of dedication at Hazeltine National Golf Club.
While at Carlson, Karsten was actively involved in campus life. He served on the Evans Scholars Executive Board, competed in intramural flag football, and broadened his global perspective through a semester abroad in Dublin, Ireland.
Outside of work, Karsten enjoys staying active through golf and baseball. He’s a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan, values time with family and friends, and pursues a creative interest in videography.

Barb Witcraft
Accounting Manager
Barb has been in the accounting world for over 40 years, bringing deep experience and steady leadership to everything she does. As Accounting Manager at Dougherty, she handles day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping and bill pay, for individual and family office clients.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and has worked across a variety of industries—from food and dining to real estate and small business—giving her a broad and practical perspective.
When she’s not working with numbers, Barb loves spending time with her husband, Dave, and their four grandchildren. She stays active playing tennis, golf, and pickleball—and she never misses a chance to cheer on her beloved Green Bay Packers.

Debra Lochner
Senior Accountant
As Senior Accountant at Dougherty, Debbie plays a key role in managing client bill pay services and preparing financial statements. She works closely with clients to make bill payment, record keeping, and banking as smooth and stress-free as possible. Debbie also supports our trust and tax clients with both administrative and client service needs.
Debbie studied at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and brings over 15 years of accounting experience across a variety of industries.
Debbie lives in Chanhassen with her husband, Joe, and they have three children. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling, catching up with friends, and cheering on the Packers. Lately, she’s picked up golf and is enjoying the challenge!

Office Manager
Sue has been a cornerstone of Dougherty Financial Group for over 15 years, serving as both Office Manager and Executive Assistant to Mike Dougherty. With a strong background in executive support, she previously spent 27 years at U.S. Bank—12 of those as Executive Assistant to the former President & CEO.
Sue brings a wealth of experience in customer service and administration. She’s a trusted liaison between our team and clients, known for her professionalism and commitment to confidentiality.
Outside the office, Sue enjoys traveling with her husband, Roger, and spending time with their three grandchildren.
